Version the requirement
Record policy title, effective date, audience, owner, delivery channel, and acknowledgment method. A checkbox against an unnamed document does not establish which rule was received.
Separate acknowledgment from understanding
An acknowledgment confirms receipt, not correct application. Use a short scenario or work sample when the owner needs evidence that a high-risk boundary is understood.
Escalate overdue or conflicting records
Show missing acknowledgments, duplicate versions, and returned questions to the policy owner. Do not silently overwrite a prior record or interpret silence as approval.
