Name the sources, period, key, fields, tolerances, and expected output before comparing rows. Otherwise differences have no meaning.
Classify exceptions
Separate missing data, timing difference, duplicate, incorrect value, and unresolved decision. Each category needs an owner.
Close with evidence
Record matched count, open exceptions, corrections, reviewer, and date. Do not call a partial reconciliation complete.
